NORTH COTTESLOE PRIMARY SCHOOL CONTRIBUTIONS & CHARGES FOR 2024

The schedule of contributions and charges for 2024, in accordance with the School Education Regulations 2000, has been endorsed by the North Cottesloe Primary School Board.  This schedule is designed to provide you with information about anticipated costs that may occur throughout the coming school year and allow you to calculate all costs that may be incurred throughout the school year. Statements will be sent home early in Term 1, 2024, and payment in full is required to cover all charges.  Unused monies will carry forward to the next year or be refunded when students leave the school.  We encourage parents to contact the North Cottesloe PS, Manager Corporate Services, to discuss a payment plan if required.

Voluntary Contributions [School Fees]

In order to enrich the opportunities available to your child, the school requests from each family a voluntary contribution per child which is paid into the school account and is subject to Government audit.  Contributions collected from parents are used to provide materials and resources directly consumed by students, including the provision of texts and access to devices.

Money collected will be used to supplement school expenditure in the curriculum learning areas.  The contributions maximise the quality of our teaching and learning program when each family makes its contribution. It is vital for the school to receive your family’s contribution.  The table below gives you the breakdown of where we will direct your voluntary contributions to.

We also point out that all contributions are used for the direct benefit of our children.  Our aim is to ensure our community’s contribution rate is as high as possible.

Charges for Extra Cost Optional Components

Children will engage in a variety of activities associated with educational programs for which charges will be incurred.  A breakdown of estimated charges for your child’s participation in excursions, incursions and activities for 2024 have been included in the table below. Details on charges collected in previous years and anticipated price increases going forward, has helped guide the 2024 estimate of charges and represent the maximum costs which will be charged for scheduled activities in 2024.

Charges must be paid prior to the planned activity. If personal circumstances result in payment difficulties, please contact the Manager Corporate Services to make alternative arrangements.

The charges schedule includes costs associated with:

  • Specific learning activities and available to all students, but conditional on a payment being made e.g. incursions, excursions.
  • Specific learning activities available to selected students, but conditional on a payment being made e.g. PEAC, Instrumental Music program.
  • Other activities available to all students, but conditional on a payment being made e.g. Graduation lunch, camps.

All unspent funds in unallocated credit, will be refunded, or rolled over [to a sibling] on request.

Other Voluntary Funds

P & C Contribution

Each year the P&C requests a voluntary payment from families which helps provide much needed amenities for the school.  In 2024, the amount is $150 per child.  Payments can be made directly to the school or via the Campion [supplier] Personal Items Lists

Personal Items Lists (Booklist)

The Personal Items Lists for 2024 will be published on Connect in 2023 and available on our website.  All materials can be purchased through Campion, however you are not obliged to use this supplier.  Your child will need to have the listed materials each school day, so it may be necessary to replace some items, such as pens or pencils, throughout the year.

Statements detailing charges and contributions will be issued early in Term 1, 2024.  If you have any queries or require further information, please contact us via email at northcottesloe.ps@education.wa.edu.au

As indicated above, a payment plan is always available to parents on request. If you would like to make regular payments towards your child’s costs, please contact Paula Hartley, MCS, via northcottesloe.ps@education.wa.edu.au
