Year 4 - 6 ICT (Technology) Strategy Meeting for Parents18 Sep 2023 - 18 Sep 2023
FOR NEW FAMILIES IN YEAR 4 - 6 2024 AND ALL YEAR 3 PARENTS:
Dear Parents / Carers,
To prepare for the demands of our upper primary classroom space, you are invited to come along and hear about our Year 4 - 6 classroom's ICT strategy for 2024.
Background: To prepare our students for the demands of the WA Curriculum and the future use of technology, we use a 1-to-1 device strategy for all students in Years 4 - 6. The device that we have chosen is Apple's iPad due to it's flexible platform, ease of use and cost. All students champion the use of Microsoft's Office 365 suite of products and in particular, Class Notebook (or OneNote) to assist teachers in their classroom work (Please access more information about Office 365 and Class Notebook here). In addition, teachers will use Apple Classroom to monitor all students, what they are doing and able to access at any one time (Please access more information about Apple Classroom here).
At this meeting, we'll provide some information on the Department of Education's ICT Vision for 2023 and how this and other curriculum considerations affect our strategy. There will be some financial considerations that will be covered and some information on our staff and their professional learning around Technology. We'd also like to discuss the ways in which we ensure student safety around the use of devices in classrooms and include a brief look at Class Notebook and Apple Classroom.
Please come along just before school pick up time: 2.30pm on Monday 18th September in our school library.
